Insider: Pian delle Querci
Extension: 21 acres
Pian delle Querci is a small family estate spanning 50 hectares (123 acres), with 8.5 hectares (21 acres) of vineyards located on the northwest slope of the Montalcino DOCG. The Sangiovese Grosso grapes here produce a fragrant, elegant Brunello with moderate alcohol.
The vines are trained with low spurred cordon and kept at 70 cm (2.5 ft) from the ground. Yields are intentionally low. Clay-rich, stony soils and a 250m (820 ft) elevation promote complexity and balance.

Production: 56,000 bottles
Fermentations use only indigenous yeasts with long macerations to extract character from each grape. Wines age in large Slavonian oak barrels to ensure slow, even evolution and preserve typicity.
The range includes Rosso di Montalcino and Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, including a limited Riserva release each year.
